Picture Frame C. 1825

Custom made hand painted reproduction of a picture frame that was very popular throughout the first half of the 19th century. It can be ordered any size with as much overlap as you desire in order to conceal paint that may be flaking at the edge of a painting, thus avoiding costly restoration. The frame border is 4 3/8’’ wide by 1 ¾’’ thick along the outer edge (to give an idea of proportions, the example illustrated has an overall external dimension of 30 x 34 inches). To order, the exact measurements of the artwork as well as the overlap required will need to be specified.
